, Wednesday morning, quantities of improved gasoline ran out from most of the gas stations in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
Our reporter quoted vehicle owners as saying, "Most of the stations informed them that there was no improved gasoline, because it was out of the market."
He adds, "Normal gasoline is available at these stations."
The economic researcher, Nabil Jabbar Al-Ali, talks about the gasoline crisis and reveals its causes, by saying: “I think that the recent improved gasoline crisis in Iraq came as a result of the depletion of previously supplied quantities of high-octane gasoline and the suspension of import operations for commercial reasons related to the high import cost as a result of the high global oil prices compared to the selling price.” The local constant, which was recently reduced, "to be 650 dinars instead of 750 dinars per liter (54 cents instead of 63 cents according to previous exchange rates)."
He added, "As for the current exchange rates, at a price of 650 Iraqi dinars per liter, the price becomes 44 cents for the consumer, and this is not commensurate with the value of importing high-octane gasoline in global markets, which is valued according to today's prices (63 cents, which is equivalent to 925 Iraqi dinars), so the price is The final gasoline that reaches the consumer after adding transportation costs and the profits of gas stations is approximately 1000 dinars per liter for high-octane gasoline (98 gasoline), with a value ranging from 800 to 900 dinars for 92 and 95 octane gasoline, respectively.
