The High Electoral Commission announced, on Thursday, the completion of most of the steps of the timetable to prepare for the election day.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the commission stated that "the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf, received at the headquarters of the Electoral Commission in Baghdad, the British ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson, and his accompanying delegation."
And she added that, "At the beginning of the meeting, Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf welcomed the visit of the British ambassador to the headquarters of the Commission, congratulating him on the occasion of assuming his new duties, to complete what the former ambassador had started in his interest in communicating with the Commission and Iraqi official institutions."
The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners affirmed, according to the statement, that "the Commission has completed most of the steps it set in the timetable to prepare for the election day on October 10, 2021," praising the "international support for conducting the elections in an unprecedented manner, which gave real impetus to the completion of the early elections file, through What was basically achieved through the United Nations mission in Baghdad."
