An international agency that supports the implementation of 1000 small and medium projects in Iraq
Shafaq News/ Minister of Planning Batal Negm announced on Tuesday that the International Migration Agency has provided support in implementing 1,000 small and medium projects in all governorates of Iraq to support the development of the economy in the country.
This came in a speech during the Project Development Fund conference with the support of the United Nations Migration Agency, held in the capital, Baghdad, which was attended by Shafak News Agency's correspondent.
During the conference, the minister said that financial support was provided for the implementation of 1,000 small and medium projects in all Iraqi governorates, and on this occasion and on behalf of the Republic of Iraq, we value the initiative put forward by the International Organization for Migration represented in providing the Project Development Fund.
He added that this fund will contribute to building the Iraqi economy as a means of recovery after Iraq has overcome the difficult challenges we faced represented by terrorism and the Corona pandemic.
The minister affirmed that the projects have a major role in advancing the economic recovery in the basic and secondary sectors and supporting the young graduates of various specializations.
Battal also expressed the readiness of the Ministry of Planning, with all its departments and formations, to submit studies and available data, while providing statistics on topics in the Fund, in coordination with the relevant ministries, governorates and departments.
In turn, the Minister of Trade and Industry in the Kurdistan Region, Kamal Muslim, said during a speech at the conference, that this project will achieve development and reduce unemployment suffered by the Iraqi people, which will lead to reducing unemployment and protecting young people who may be easy prey for extremist groups, planting ideas in their minds and using them in bad deeds. It also helps them (the youth) to stick to the country and not to emigrate abroad.
He explained that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the region contributed to creating the capabilities of young people and owners of small projects, thus opening training and practical courses in business management.
Muslim also indicated that the number of courses conducted by the ministry is 50 specialized courses for owners of small projects, indicating that the number of beneficiaries of these courses is 686 people, in addition to the number of courses that were implemented in coordination with Italian universities, which are 14 courses, and the number of graduates who benefited from them is 250 people, in addition to many seminars.
The Kurdistan Minister continued, saying: The aim of these courses is to provide job opportunities and prepare cadres to manage small projects, stressing that the ministry and the regional government have not stopped any activities to support the youth.
