{Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Electricity issued, on Thursday, a clarification regarding the reasons for the acute shortage of processing hours, while it threatened to resort to smart measures to maximize the collection resources.
The useful summary.. In important news, you can find it on Al-Furat News Channel on Telegram.. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Musa al-Abadi, told Al-Furat News that: “The electricity file in general is not only governed by the ministry, and there are a number of factors and from ministries and authorities,” noting, “The real crisis is an industry and it needs elements, the most important of which is the fuel plan. The file is governmental par excellence."
He added, "The stations are ready to operate and have kept pace with the increase in demand, as the energy has increased during the current year by 3,000 megawatts, and the large-scale displacement of imported gas has led to the exit of many generating stations."
Al-Abadi pointed out, "The ministry's treatments are heading towards clean energies, and we have been doing it, and the government reckons that it has moved greatly, and the ministry has now signed with major international companies for solar and clean energy and distributed it to the governorates of Iraq."
He explained, "We had not previously signed on solar energies. The government and the ministry were in the process of correcting the governmental path. It is not hidden from everyone that the electricity sector was marred by many suspicions of corruption and mismanagement, and even to eliminate it, the government went to diversify energy sources and connect electricity with the Gulf countries, Turkey and Jordan, and to sign with major companies." The global clean energy production. The
crisis is not controlled by the ministry only, the decline of gas, the incompleteness of the fuel plan of the ministry, and the financial hardship that accompanied all the projects that could keep pace with demand, and the 2021 budget ended and the ministry did not receive a single dollar.
With regard to collection by electronic standards, Al-Abadi said, “There is an article in the general budget law that requires all ministries that have collection resources to obtain this collection, otherwise it is deducted from the public budgets of any ministry.
Accordingly, today the Ministry of Electricity did not work with smart measures, but rather completed an integrated study to proceed with the collection project, and it will be presented to the Council of Ministers and voted on, and then it will be done.
” He added, “The electronic collection project will undertake the following: -
    Installing smart scales.
Strengthening and rehabilitating distribution networks to keep pace with demand.
Monitoring citizens and employees who play with the tax returns.
     - Seeking to transform informal subscribers in slum areas into regular consumers to reduce losses, maximize collection resources, and provide complete file and distribution networks to keep pace with demand.
Al-Abadi concluded, "There are those who claim waste with collection returns today, which amounts to 46%. This waste is not wastage in conveying lines and networks, but rather it is energy equipped for citizens, which the Ministry is forbidden from collecting because it is in random and allocated agricultural areas. Therefore, it is energy equipped for citizens."
