The first round of political consultations between the Republic of Iraq and the Swiss Confederation was held at the headquarters of the Swiss Federal Government in Bern.
The Iraqi side was headed by Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry, Nizar Al-Khairallah, while the Swiss side was headed by Assistant Foreign Minister for Middle Eastern and North African Affairs Maya Tsavi, with the participation of the temporary Chargé d'Affairs Hendrin Ali Mustafa and the delegation accompanying the undersecretary.
The two sides reviewed the most important steps taken by the two countries in developing bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them in various fields, discussing common visions on strengthening dialogue, human rights, migration issues and humanitarian aid, as well as addressing current regional and international issues.
