    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Industry and Minerals offered three industrial cities as investment opportunities, with a total area of more than ten thousand acres, within the governorates of Wasit, Najaf and Nineveh.
The deputy head of the Industrial Cities Authority in the ministry, Raghad Hamza, said in a statement reported by the newspaper, "Al-Sabah", that "the ministry is working through the establishment of industrial cities to establish solid economic infrastructure for the country to provide local production and reduce import," stressing that "the ministry has completed the land transfer operations." After the governorates allocate plots of land of five thousand dunums for the industrial city in Wasit, four thousand dunams in Najaf, and 1200 dunams for those that will be established in Nineveh.
Hamza expected that "there will be a great turnout by businessmen and sober local and international companies to implement these cities, under the supervision of the ministry, in accordance with Law No. 2 on industrial cities," pointing to "the contribution of industrial cities to providing thousands of job opportunities and reducing unemployment rates, especially that those who will work in them are counting Employees because they work in factories and laboratories supervised by the ministry, and therefore their rights will be preserved.”
Regarding the projects of other industrial cities that are being worked on in a number of governorates, she indicated that "the percentage of their completion in Basra governorate is about 60 percent, in addition to achieving advanced completion rates that have not been announced for those that are being worked on within the governorates of Anbar and Karbala," noting that "The ones that continue to work in Karbala, will be the first city specialized in petrochemical industries, because it will be implemented near an oil refinery in the governorate."
