The Ministry of Industry and Minerals has completed the first phase of the industrial cities project in Anbar Governorate, with an area of 3,000 dunums, as part of a government directive to establish similar cities in all governorates of the country.
The assistant head of the Industrial Cities Authority in the ministry, Raghad Hamza, told the official newspaper, “Al-Sabah,” that “the ministry has prepared a plan to advance the economic reality of all governorates by approving the establishment of industrial cities within them,” adding that “the first phase of the industrial city project in Anbar Governorate has been completed, with an area of 3,000 acres. ".
And she indicated that "the first phase included the completion of fences, streets and infrastructure for the city," noting that "the rest of the work of this phase is related to the second phase, which has a completion rate of 20 percent and included the construction of stations to be ready for the construction of laboratories on them."
Hamza stated that "the city was divided into 230 sections, meaning that one section has an area of 1250 square meters, or half a dunam, and the investor can obtain two sections to establish a factory according to the standards and parameters set by the authority," explaining that "the financial allocations and the cooperation of the local Anbar government, They contributed to the completion of the works within their specified times, and the rest of them are being completed successively.
The ministry had announced at the beginning of this year that it had taken important steps to establish industrial cities in the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar and Anbar, and to proceed with the procedures for establishing them within the Nineveh governorate.
