The independent politician Saad Al-Mutalibi confirmed today, Saturday, that the exit from the scene of the political impasse depends on the agreement of the Kurdish parties to present a consensual candidate for the presidency.
Al-Mutalibi said in a statement to the "Information" agency, that "the ball of political obstruction is now in the court of the main Kurdish parties," noting that "the choice and consensus on the candidate for the presidency of the republic is considered the whistle of a political breakthrough."
He added, "The choice of the President of the Republic will be the key to the solution to end the stage of political blockage and move forward in the path of forming the next government."
Al-Mutalibi indicated that "there is a close political breakthrough through the initiatives of the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement, and the subsequent positive messages from other political forces."
Earlier, the representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Rafiq Al-Salihi, confirmed that some political blocs wish to continue the state of political obstruction because they benefit from it to achieve goals and objectives.
