Shafaq News/ The Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc, Vian Sabri, called on the international community on Saturday to sponsor "negotiations" between Iraq and neighboring countries that guarantee the country's sovereignty, warning of the repercussions of the continued bombing on the lands of Kurdistan Region.
The head of the bloc, MP Vian Sabri, said during a press conference for the Kurdish parties held at the parliament building and attended by Shafak News Agency correspondent, "We participated today in the parliament session, which focused on the Iranian bombing that targeted Iraqi lands, including the governorates of the Kurdistan Region, at our request submitted to the Presidency of Parliament, with 126 signatures. A representative from all parliamentary blocs.
Sabri denounced the "recent Iranian aggression", and demanded that it be stopped because of its negative repercussions, noting that "this bombing led to dozens of martyrs and wounded and the destruction of government institutions."
She explained that "today's session was clear to condemn the violation of Iraqi sovereignty by neighboring countries," noting that "the outcome of the session was the formation of a joint committee of the security, defense and foreign relations committees with representatives from the federal government represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and coordination with the Kurdistan Regional Government, and taking all measures from It would stop the repeated attacks under any pretext."
Sabri pointed out that "the council will present, during the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, an emergency item to demand the preservation of Iraqi sovereignty, the cessation of attacks and interference in Iraqi affairs, and obtaining international support."
And she continued, "The door of dialogue will remain open to all neighboring countries," calling on the international community to "work to prevent the recurrence of abuses, open an international investigation and sponsor negotiations that guarantee Iraq's sovereignty and commitment to good neighbourliness."
