The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's parliamentary bloc in the Iraqi parliament, Vian Sabri, stressed the need for the Iraqi government to transfer the file of the Iranian bombing of the Kurdistan Region to the United Nations.
The Kurdish blocs in the Iraqi parliament had called on the parliament to take an appropriate legislative position to prevent violations, in the closed session to be held tomorrow, to discuss the issue of "preserving Iraq's sovereignty" as stated in the agenda.
Vian Sabri said today, Monday (November 21, 2022), that the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc called for “holding a closed session of the House of Representatives after the Iranian bombing of missiles and drones on the Kurdistan Region, last night.”
She added, "We do not want the results of the session to be limited to a statement condemning the attack, and what draws our attention now is that the Iraqi government and the presidency have not issued even a statement yet."
The head of the parliamentary bloc of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, stressed the need for the Iraqi government to transfer this file to the United Nations, so that the international organization supports Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and provides protection for its airspace.
Vian Sabri indicated that Iran should not transfer its internal problems to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, stressing that "there is no logic behind the bombing with missiles and drones, and if there is a problem, it cannot be solved in this way."
She pointed out that they are currently preparing a bill to prevent missile attacks on Iraq, "because Iran has been continuing its attacks for three months, under any pretext."
The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc, she noted that "if Iran's goal is the opposition parties, then they have existed since the eighties," asking: "Why are you raising the issue now?"
It is noteworthy that the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Iran, in Koysanjak and Jeznikan of the movement in Erbil, and the headquarters of the Revolutionary Toilers Association in Zirkuiz in Sulaymaniyah, last night and today's dawn, were attacked by missiles and drones.
Vian Sabri concluded that "the problem is internal, Iran seeks to evade it, and to draw attention to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region."
