     Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul Ghani said today, Sunday, that the ministry is keen to increase gas investment from oil fields through the implementation of investment plans, programs and projects in the Basra Gas Company, to reach an investment rate of 1400 million standard cubic feet over the next few years. To reduce emissions and support the national economy.
    This came during his visit to the Basra Gas Company and his meeting with the general manager of the company and the advanced staff, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Oil.
    The statement quoted the minister as saying: The Basra Gas Company, which is represented by the government partner, the South Gas Company and the two foreign companies, Shell and Mitsubishi, have implemented projects to invest gas, and the current investment rate is 900 square meters.
    He pointed out that the company has promising projects to add new capacities of invested gas to reach these rates to 1,400 cubic meters per day through the implementation of the Basra NGL project, which includes the establishment and construction of an integrated gas investment plant and includes two units, each one with a capacity of 200 cubic meters, and this project will supply the national network with gas including Not less than 200 bottles during the next five months, directing the company to reduce this period.
    Abdul-Ghani stressed that the company is determined to achieve this program and they have the determination and determination to achieve this, and we appreciate the efforts of the company’s workers for the gas investment work that has been accomplished, in addition to their efforts to support the local community through the implementation of school building projects and other service projects related to local content We hope that these efforts and achievements will continue in order to achieve the goal of stopping gas flaring.
    For his part, the delegated director of the Basra Gas Company, "Malcolm Mays," confirmed the company's plans to increase production, while the company's deputy general manager at the port of Kazim reviewed plans for the implementation of gas investment projects and the stages of progress of work, which resulted in reaching large rates of investment, stressing the continuation of implementing the gas projects. Current projects to achieve production rates that meet the ambition and enhance the national economy of Iraq.
    He continued by saying that the company, since the start of its work in 2013, has invested gas in the fields of licensing rounds contracts at rates of 900 cubic meters per day. Completion of major maintenance works that achieve stable production and investment, as well as the implementation of a project that represents the most important projects, which is collecting gas in the Zubair and West Qurna fields, as well as the Basra NGL project, which we look forward to operating soon, noting that these projects will reduce emissions by 40 percent.
    He noted the great support provided by the Ministry and the South Gas Company represented in technical and financial support through reviewing, approving and discussing plans in a precise manner and presenting proposals in a way that matures the plan for the better, adding that this visit from the Minister represents a great support and incentive for workers to provide the best because it came after a few days on assuming the position.
