    Economy News - Baghdad
On Thursday, the director of the Labor and Vocational Training Department at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Raed Bahez, revealed that most Syrian workers "enter illegally" through the Kurdistan region.
Bahez said in an interview with the official newspaper, "Most of the Syrian workers enter illegally through the Kurdistan region, while a large part of them are refugees in the region and are smuggled to Baghdad for the purpose of work or begging."
He added, "A small part of them managed to obtain original work licenses after completing the legal procedures, and despite that, they are followed up through the inspection committees of the ministry, in addition to the presence of an Iraqi sponsor for each of them."
And he continued, "The ministry, through committees, monitors illegal workers or whose residency has expired, and they are held accountable and the employer is referred to the competent courts."
