Today, Monday, the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, affirmed full readiness to hold local elections in an appropriate security environment.
A statement by the State Administration Coalition stated, "Today, the State Administration Coalition held its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani," noting that "the latest developments on the national, regional and international arena were discussed."
He added, "The coalition hosted the elections committee to resolve the election law in preparation for holding local elections," noting that "the most important challenges expected by specialists and mechanisms to solve them were discussed."
The Prime Minister affirmed "full readiness to hold elections in an appropriate security environment."
