On Friday, four deputies announced their withdrawal from the Taqaddam party, headed by Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi.
The deputies said in a statement, which Mawazine News received a copy of, that "a number of members of the Iraqi Parliament, in its fifth session, announce their official withdrawal from the Parliamentary Progress Party and Bloc, and for several observations on the party's modus operandi and the lack of real partnership in decision-making."
The statement added: "The signatories also announce their stay within the Sovereignty Coalition in order to preserve the representation of their provinces and their masses; hoping for a new formulation that will restore the role of the coalition, and its members their position in defending the issues of their people and their masses.
