    Baghdad / Obelisk: The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, stressed the importance of the European Union's support for the government's efforts to combat corruption and recover wanted persons and stolen funds.
    Obelisk publishes the text of the statement:
    The Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani, met, at his residence, on Friday evening, the President of the European Commission, Mrs. Ursal Vondralen, on the sidelines of his participation in the 59th Munich Security Conference.
    During the meeting, they reviewed the relations between Iraq and all the countries of the European Union, where the Prime Minister affirmed Iraq's desire to conclude advanced development partnerships with the countries of the Union in various fields.
    His Excellency indicated that his meetings with the leaders of Germany, France and Italy come on the path of economic cooperation, and building bonds of cooperation to face economic challenges and the effects of climate change and build stability and sustainable development, referring to the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the European Investment Bank, and the openness to the investments of European companies and their contribution to the service sector in Iraq, He also pointed out the importance of the European Union supporting the government's efforts in combating corruption and recovering wanted persons and stolen funds.
    For her part, Mrs. Vondralen expressed her support for the Prime Minister and his reform decisions, and the willingness of all European Union countries to cooperate and exchange with Iraq, in light of the long-term partnerships. She pointed to the seriousness of European countries in finding real partnerships in the fields of energy and renewable energy.
