Nechirvan Barzani discusses with the Italian Foreign Minister antiquities in the Kurdistan Region and educational opportunities

Shafaq News/ The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, met on Sunday in Munich, Germany, with the Italian Foreign Minister, Antonio Taiani.
A statement from the region's presidency, received by Shafaq News agency, stated; The two sides affirmed the common desire to consolidate bilateral relations between Italy, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. They talked especially about expanding Italy's assistance to the Kurdistan Region in the field of discovering antiquities and providing study opportunities for the citizens of the Kurdistan Region in Italy.
The Italian Foreign Minister affirmed that his country views importance on its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, security, and political and economic stability in them, and that Italy desires more investment opportunities and joint projects in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
On his part; Barzani affirmed the Kurdistan Region's desire to develop and expand relations and joint cooperation with Italy and to provide all facilities and support for Italian investment. He also expressed his thanks to Italy for the support and assistance provided by Italy to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The statement indicated that the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, the latest developments in the war against ISIS, the energy crisis, attempts to solve it in Europe, and the situation in the Middle East in general were other axes during the meeting.
