The Ministry of Interior announces the opening date of the directorates of Al-Kadhimiya and Karrada to issue the electronic passport

Today, Thursday, the General Passports Directorate of the Ministry of Interior announced the date for issuing the electronic passport from the Kadhimiya and Karrada directorates, while noting that next week will witness the opening of the two directorates.
The Director of Passports Affairs, Brigadier Majid Adnan, said in a statement to the official newspaper, followed by (Baghdad Today), that "the directorate has set a timetable for the opening of the directorates after their rehabilitation and transformation to be ready to issue the electronic passport."
He explained, "The directorate has prepared a plan to convert all directorates that issue regular passports into electronic ones."
With regard to the dates granted for receiving the electronic passport, he indicated that there is a "great demand by citizens to issue the electronic passport, and therefore there is a great momentum in the dates of receipt, and this matter is expected with the beginning of the launch of the project, especially since it is one of the important projects included in the e-government program ".
He continued, "The next stage will witness the disappearance of the problem of delivery times, especially after the opening of many directorates, with tendencies to open other outlets in malls."
