A statement by the Ministry of Industry stated that the minister met the Syrian ambassador at the ministry's headquarters, and the two sides discussed bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in various industrial fields. The minister discussed during the meeting, according to the statement, the possibility and mechanisms of cooperation and joint work with Syria in various industrial fields, especially the spinning
and weaving industry. And leather industries, as well as the establishment of a joint industrial city between Iraq and Syria, and the work of the Iraqi-Syrian joint committee and what was achieved during the previous years were also discussed within the work of this committee.
The minister referred to the strong fraternal relations linking the two countries and the two fraternal peoples, and the expertise that Syria possesses in multiple industries, stressing readiness for continuous coordination and exchange of meetings and visits to enhance future prospects for industrial cooperation between the two countries. .
