The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, discussed, on Tuesday, with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Konay, to discuss opportunities for cooperation and partnership to establish industrial cities in the cities of Mosul and Tal Afar, and other industrial fields.
A statement by the ministry, received by Al-Maaloumah, stated that "during the meeting, they discussed the existing cooperation between the two sides, and reviewed and discussed the measures taken by the Iraqi and Turkish sides for joint work in establishing industrial cities in Nineveh Governorate."
The minister expressed "the ministry's readiness to provide possible facilities for the importance of city projects in Iraq and in light of the economic relations between the two neighboring countries."
The minister also discussed "joint cooperation frameworks in other industrial fields, including the phosphate industry," as he indicated that "requests for cooperation in the field of phosphate industry were received during the Mineral Investment Conference. These requests will be studied and the best company will be chosen in terms of competence, experience, and financial solvency."
In turn, the Turkish ambassador affirmed "the serious desire to enhance cooperation and joint work with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and to take advantage of the available opportunities and projects in the interest of the two countries."
