Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: Parliamentary statements revealed that there are job grades in the general budget for the year 2023, which will be distributed among the wage brackets, lecturers and graduates.
Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Ikhlas Al-Dulaimi, said that job grades in the budget are 37,000 for the Ministry of Interior, 5,000 for defense, 150,000 for education, and 67,000 for degree holders.
In Iraq, there is a lack of investment in productive sectors such as industry, agriculture, and manufacturing due to weak incentives and government support, high production costs, poor infrastructure, and a lack of skills and technology. This leads to a decline in competitiveness and the inability to produce value-added goods and services.
Statistics indicate that the number of employees and retirees who receive salaries from the state has reached 7 million employees.

The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, stated that the budget will include 150,000 job grades, which will be distributed to wage segments, lecturers, graduates, and all segments that were not previously treated fairly.
Iraq is witnessing an increase in the number of employees in the public sector, due to the expansion of government jobs and the many government institutions without real production, which leads to an inflation of the public sector and incurring unnecessary expenses.
All those whose contracts have been terminated will also be redressed in the budget to return them to service, in addition to fairness to the readers of the scales in the budget.

Representative Firas Al-Maslamawi explained that the job grades will be distributed according to the population census and the actual need raised by the education directorates in the governorates, adding that the confirmation of daily workers has been included, and their service is calculated since their commencement, on the condition of paying the retirement stops, indicating that the examiners are included in the Ministries of Defense and Interior and the application form is opened for the first. And higher certificates for degrees amounting to 31 thousand degrees.
The continued monopoly of economic sectors by the state requires the absorption of unemployment and the continuation of employment by circulating the movement of owners between new employment and those who are retired.
According to data from the Ministry of Planning, the public sector's contribution to the gross domestic product is 64%, while the private sector's contribution still does not exceed 36%.
Ali al-Sheikh, an expert in economic affairs, says that spending more than 60 percent of the state budget on employee salaries, which amounts to about $6 billion per month, is a big mistake borne by successive governments that have tried to employ the issue of appointment in government institutions in their electoral favour.
