Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Planning clarified the measures implemented to combat industrial fraud, especially in the gold industry.
The ministry's spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said in a statement: "The Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control carries out this task through several tracks, the first track through field teams that follow up on the existing gold and gold jewelry in goldsmiths' shops in all Iraqi markets."
He added, "The device looks at samples of gold jewelry and the legality of their entry and the money spent, and in the event of confirmation, it stamps them, and then teams from it look at what is offered in the markets to make sure that they are sealed with the seal of the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control to authorize their availability for trading, buying and selling in the markets."
He continued, "Every goldsmith in the market must be sealed with the seal of the agency, otherwise it is considered unfit for circulation, and its owners are dealt with legally. Also, the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control grants licenses for goldsmiths to practice the profession, and there are legal procedures against violating goldsmiths that lead to their referral to the courts and closing their shops." This is about gold."
And he added, "As for the rest of the products, there are field teams that follow up the existing goods to ensure their conformity with the Iraqi standard and their suitability for use, whether they are foodstuffs or non-food items. Origin, meaning that any trader who imports any goods must examine them by these companies before bringing them to Iraq and issue a certificate of conformity or examination of the goods before entering the country.
