    The researcher in economic affairs, Hisham Al-Baydani, praised the government's steps to prevent the circulation of the dollar without a license, indicating that this step will eliminate the hopes of speculators in the market.

    Al-Baydani told Al-Maalooma, "The regulatory agencies in Iraq implemented the campaign (the dinar is our identity), but it came late. Despite the positive aspects of preventing dealing in dollars without a license, they need an awareness and educational campaign that isolates speculators from continuing to trade in buying and selling dollars."
    He added, "Iraq may be the only country in which any citizen can buy and sell dollars from the street, which indicates a major crack in economic security."
