The Office of the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region set, on Saturday, the date for holding the region's elections, while stressing that the date will not exceed February of next year.
The head of the office of the regional presidency, Fawzi Hariri, said, "There is information indicating that the commission decided that the date of the elections in the region will be either on the eighteenth of next February 2024, or any date after that, due to the need of 6-7 months to prepare for the elections."
And he continued: "When we receive the official address and we expect that next Sunday or Monday, the president of the region will set the date that does not exceed the end of February, determine the election day and issue an official decree in that regard, after which we will officially inform the Independent High Authority for Elections by letter at the end of this week or before the end of this month."
