    Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw said, in a press conference, that: "The meetings held between the two sides included three axes, including the continuation of last year's experience regarding receiving visitors to the holy shrines, which was for the first time through the Haji Imran border crossing, and it was agreed to develop this experience during the current year."
    In this regard, Khoshnaw expected, according to the procedures and preparations, that the number of visitors through the Haji Omran crossing, this year, will increase to about 500 thousand people, after their number was 70 thousand last year. "The second axis included discussions about preparations for opening a new border crossing between the two sides, which is the Sidkan-Kulshin crossing, as it will have many economic benefits on both sides," he added

    Khoshnaw pointed out, "The third axis of the meetings included a quick review of previous agreements between the two sides, as the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding in January 2021, and in February of last year it turned into an official agreement concluded in Erbil, and the agreement concluded today consists of 20 points that develop from previous agreements."
    He explained that "the previous agreements contributed to increasing the rate of trade exchange between the two sides by 25%, and part of the agreement that was concluded includes the development of tourism relations between Iran and the Kurdistan region, and the provision of facilities by the endowments departments for visits and cultural and academic relations."
