Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Electricity confirmed that work is underway to prepare recommendations for the Council of Ministers on electronic taxation, while indicating that the experiment will be applied in specific areas in preparation for its generalization in all regions of Iraq.
"The ministry held intensive meetings to study the models presented regarding the electronic meter for collection, where the experiences of neighboring countries were reviewed," said the ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Musa, in a press interview.
He added, "The ministry is working on preparing recommendations for studying the project and submitting them to the Prime Minister for discussion and approval," stressing that "the experiment will be applied to elected regions to study the criteria for the experiment and its success."
He pointed out, "The experience of the electronic meter and electronic collection will be committed to organizing slums and networks of agricultural areas and limiting the classification of high and medium loads."
He continued, "The ministry is seeking to apply the experiment in elected regions, in preparation for its generalization in all regions of Iraq."
