    Today, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Electricity to prioritize completing maintenance projects and preparing for next summer
    The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by Al-Eqtisad News, "Al-Sudani made a visit to the headquarters of the Ministry of Electricity in Baghdad, to follow up on the progress of work in the ministry's projects and its preparations to meet the increasing demand for electrical energy next summer."
    The Prime Minister was briefed on "the plans and programs drawn up, and the maintenance and expansion plans being implemented by the international companies GE and Siemens."
    The statement explained, “Al-Sudani chaired a meeting that included agents, advisors, and general directors in the ministry, during which the ministry’s overall procedures, data and numbers related to collection, expected future loads, and the steps taken to confront the increase and symptoms of load and bottlenecks in the national electrical network were reviewed.”
    The Prime Minister stressed "the importance of making the preparation and provision of electrical energy a service priority and a criterion for evaluating the performance of employees in the Ministry of Electricity, while he renewed his directives on the necessity of investigating the soundness of procedures for contracts and accrediting reputable companies, in a way that meets the citizens' ambition to receive continuous service and continuous provision of electrical energy."
    The statement indicated, "The Prime Minister followed the Ministry's procedures regarding clean and renewable energy projects, and proceeded with the implementation of contracts for the expansion and development of this sector."
