Al-Maliki said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, "The region is part of Iraq and is supposed to submit to the Iraqi constitution, and federal positions apply to it, whether sovereign or political, meaning that if Baghdad decides to end the relationship with a specific country, remove foreign forces, or arrest terrorists involved in cases criminal, Kurdistan is supposed to take the same position.”
He added, "Weakening the federal government constitutes a violation of the constitution and national sovereignty, and therefore the region acts as if it were another country and is not affiliated with Iraq," pointing out that "the positions issued by the Kurdistan region during the past years confirm the lack of harmony with Baghdad, especially with regard to prosecuting those involved in cases." terrorism or corruption.
The leader of al-Maliki's coalition explained, "These terrorists quickly resort to Erbil and enjoy free movement, in addition to the presence of media platforms broadcasting from Kurdistan targeting Iraq and the political process and provoking hatred, and it cannot be stopped broadcasting because the Kurdistan government rejects that."
Al-Maliki referred to "dealing with abnormal and Western terms with Iraqi society, such as (gender), which the federal government has criminalized," calling on the Kurdistan government to "harmonize with this position, and the need not to compliment international foreign parties at the expense of Iraqi national and social interests."
And he stated, "The region's policy is not consistent with the federal government regarding major issues affecting the security, safety and stability of the country."
Earlier, the Kurdish company, Korek, sponsored a conference to support homosexuality in the Erbil governorate in the Kurdistan region, which sparked a wave of popular and political anger, amid many calls for the company to be held accountable by the Ministry of Communications.
The Kurdistan government tends to reverse the positions and policies taken by the federal government, especially on important issues, including cautioning (gender) or (homosexuality) and making it available in the provinces of the region. Ended / 25R
