    Today, Thursday (May 16, 2024), Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani directed the implementation of a number of measures to develop the work of the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI).
    A government source told "Baghdad Today", "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani directed the implementation of a number of measures to develop the work of the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) and increase its contributions to financing and economic development of the country."
    He added, "Among these measures is the formation of a joint committee between (the Prime Minister's Office, the Central Bank, and the Trade Bank of Iraq) that studies and evaluates the loans granted by the bank to the private sector (individuals and companies) and ways to settle defaulting ones through a proposed incentive plan in this regard, provided that the committee completes It will work within a month from now.
    He pointed out that, "Among the measures also is assigning the Trade Bank of Iraq to prepare a study on granting loans and stimulating the private sector to make the most of the credit services provided by the bank within a month."
    He continued, "He also directed the implementation of the plan proposed by the Central Bank to develop the activities of the Iraqi Trade Bank by increasing the number of the bank's branches in Baghdad and the provinces, especially in the provinces with broad economic activity."
    He pointed to "facilitating and simplifying the provision of services in all aspects, taking care of the bank's customers, and determining mechanisms to monitor and follow up on this, in addition to reviewing the system of wages and commissions charged by the bank in order to achieve the greatest possible customer attraction and to help achieve the goal of exchange rate stability and general price stability in the interest of citizens."
