    The Director of Civil Status, Passports and Residency, Major General Nashat Ibrahim Al-Khafaji, said in a conference held at the directorate’s headquarters that the number of those registered in the national project for the unified card had reached 38 million and 167 citizens as of yesterday, Wednesday, indicating that the project contributed to creating an information base for every individual who was granted the card, which helps to obtain On security information if it is requested from a specific party.



    He stated that after issuing the decision to stop dealing in paper documents, there was a large influx of citizens, which generated momentum in the number of auditors, which called on the directorate to take measures to limit this, in light of the presence of 329 sites to register them, indicating that the second phase of the project was launched with grants.     For his part, the Ministry’s official spokesman, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, stated that the Ministry has important activities in which it has achieved good results, the most important of which is choosing the electronic passport and electronic visa project as the best advanced electronic system for the past year during the evaluation conducted by a global platform.
    He continued that the e-passport also achieved high results, as the number of those issued since the launch of the project until now reached 1,19,198, while the number of regular (A) passports reached 1,150,000, according to the official Al-Sabah newspaper.
