Today, Thursday (May 16, 2024), an official source revealed that the Ministry of Finance in the Kurdistan Regional Government has begun preparing lists of promotions for educational staff in the region.
The source told "Baghdad Today", "The Ministry of Finance has begun preparing lists of promotions approved by the regional government in a previous meeting."
He added, "The promotions and bonuses for educational staff that have been suspended since 2014 will be restored as of the salaries of the current month of May," stressing that "until now there is no agreement with the Federal Ministry of Finance in this regard."
Last Tuesday, an informed source revealed the date for disbursing employee salaries in the Kurdistan region after the amounts were sent by the Federal Ministry of Finance.
The source told "Baghdad Today", "The Ministry of Finance in the regional government will release a schedule of employee salaries for the month of April today, and distribution will begin on Wednesday."
He added, "The disbursement of salaries will begin on Wednesday in the region and will continue until next Saturday, and the banks will continue to operate even on Friday, for the purpose of disbursing the salaries of all ministries and institutions."
The Federal Ministry of Finance had previously announced the launch of salary funding for civilian employees of the Kurdistan region, benefits for the disabled in the directorates of the social protection network, care and social development, salaries of civilian and military retirees, benefits for martyrs and Anfal affairs, contracts, and benefits for the region’s departments, as part of the financial allocations for the month of April 2024.
