[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization / UNESCO, Asaad Turki Sawari.
According to a statement from his office, Al-Sudani listened to a comprehensive presentation of the activities undertaken by the international organization in its field of competence with Iraq, and the programs Cultural, educational and pedagogical activities that are implemented in partnership with it. He also reaffirmed that Iraq’s participation in cultural forums and international organizations reflects the growing image of Iraq that suits its history and cultural heritage.
The Prime Minister pointed out the importance of strengthening efforts to introduce Iraqi culture and its Arab-Islamic depth, and cooperation in the two projects (reviving the ancient cities of Mosul and Basra), which include protecting the Iraqi heritage of the two cities and rehabilitating the heritage sites in them, as well as introducing the rich creative output of Iraqi creators, and expanding the partnership between Iraq and UNESCO. In projects to preserve tangible and intangible heritage, care for and develop means of protecting Iraqi antiquities, and maintain them in cooperation with various interested international cultural and academic bodies./End Page[/rtl]
