Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Iraqi government is preparing for the United Nations meeting in which Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani will participate, by achieving internal calm, including deducting Kurdistan salaries and the dollar smuggling file, while diplomatic sources speak of reducing the level of the upcoming meeting between US President Joe Biden and the Iraqi Prime Minister. Muhammad Al-Sudani is in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations meetings next week.
According to the sources, it is expected that the meeting will address the oil file between Baghdad and the region, security related to Iranian Kurdish armed groups, especially the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, the dollar smuggling file, and the American military presence.
It is likely that Al-Sudani will meet with US President Joe Biden, a meeting that will most likely be protocol without delving into important files due to differences and long distances of rapprochement.
Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein arrived in New York to participate in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly, while Al-Sudani will join him soon and will hold many political events and a large group of meetings with his foreign minister counterparts.
Baghdad hastened to address the issue of dollar smuggling and the financial disputes with the region, hoping for the success of the Sudanese-Biden meeting.
