    Information / Baghdad
Member of the Parliamentary Security Committee, Representative Yasser Iskandar Watout, confirmed on Friday that the Ministry of Interior has adopted three priorities in its war on drugs.
Watout said in an interview with “Al-Ma’louma” that “the danger of drugs has negative repercussions not only on society but also on stability and security,” pointing out that “it remains a source of concern for us due to the danger of the emergence of this scourge that directly threatens young people and pushes them onto the path of deviance and crime.” ".
He added, "The Ministry of the Interior has adopted three priorities in the war on drugs, the most important of which are: closing the sources of their entry into the country, monitoring and tracking down their mafias and dismantling them, and ending the file of their dealers," pointing out that "the Ministry has carried out in recent months a series of qualitative and important operations that overthrew big names in the drug file and seized quantities." "Not a few of them."
He pointed out that "supporting efforts to eliminate the scourge of drugs is as important as ending the threat of terrorism, stressing the importance of accelerating the completion of the anti-drug law, which will strengthen the mechanisms for dealing with this scourge and deter its traffickers."
In recent months, the Ministry of Interior has succeeded in dismantling many drug trafficking networks and seizing large quantities in specific operations.
