    The Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee confirmed, on Wednesday, the lack of consensus between Baghdad and Erbil regarding some paragraphs of the oil and gas law, pointing to the formation of committees in order to overcome obstacles and bring viewpoints closer to resolving the law.

    Committee member Bassem Ngheimesh told Al-Maalouma, “The Ministry of Oil witnessed the formation of a committee within the ministry in order to prepare a draft of the oil and gas law in agreement between the central government and the regional government.”
    He added, "Although the formed committee has completed its work, some provisions of the law need political consensus between Baghdad and Erbil, especially with regard to Articles 5-13 of the Oil and Gas Law."
    He stated that "the Prime Minister met with the aforementioned committee, as well as the ministers in the region and Baghdad, and as a result, a government committee was formed from a group of ministers, jurists, and advisors, to follow up on what was accomplished by the ministerial committee and subcommittees and the understandings reached about the aforementioned law, and work to overcome any Obstacles as well as bringing viewpoints closer together.” Ended 25 n
