    Information/Baghdad..
The interim Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Iraq in Warsaw, Miqdad Ayoub Al-Mandalawi, discussed on Friday with the leadership of the Polish Border Guard the organization of new training courses for the Iraqi security forces.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by “Al-Ma’louma”, stated that “the interim Chargé d’Affaires, Miqdad Ayoub Al-Mandalawi, met with the Commander of the Border Guard (Gregor Nemetz) at the headquarters of the Polish Border Guard.”
The statement added, "A memorandum of understanding was signed for joint cooperation in the field of training and developing the capabilities of the Iraqi security forces regarding examining official documents at border crossings."
According to the statement, Al-Mandalawi stressed Iraq’s keenness to “strengthen joint cooperation with the friendly Republic of Poland in various fields, and to benefit from Polish expertise in the security fields, especially since the Republic of Poland is a member of the international coalition that provided great assistance in restoring security and stability in Iraq.”
He stressed "Iraq's keenness to provide all facilities with the aim of making the visit of the Polish security delegation headed by General Nimitz to Baghdad, scheduled for next November, a success."
He expressed his "hope to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and Poland and push them to the highest levels to achieve common interests," calling for "the continuation of organizing training courses for Iraqi officers specialized in border crossings," praising the level of the training curriculum provided by the leadership of the Polish Border Guard forces during the two training courses organized in Warshaw during the past months.
For his part, the Commander of the Polish Border Guard affirmed "the Polish side's openness to strengthening joint cooperation with Iraq at all levels, including security aspects, in a manner consistent with common historical relations."
He pointed out "the interest of Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski in the visit of the Polish security delegation to Baghdad, scheduled for next month."
He pointed out that "the Polish Border Guard leadership is planning to organize training courses that suit Iraq's requirements in the security field early next year."
