Iraq and NATO are discussing training security services and exchanging experiences

Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari held discussions with NATO Commander in Iraq, Lieutenant General Jose Antonio Aguero, yesterday, Saturday, regarding training Iraqi forces and exchanging experiences.
The Ministry of the Interior stated, in a statement, that “Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari met separately with the NATO Commander in Iraq, Lieutenant General Jose Antonio Aguero, and the temporary Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria to Iraq, Andrea Nasi, in the presence of the Minister’s advisor, the Commander of the Federal Police Forces, and a number Officers, and discussed with them a number of topics of mutual interest, foremost of which is strengthening joint coordination.
She added, "Cooperation was discussed in the areas of training for the Iraqi security services, exchanging practical experiences and developing their capabilities."
For his part, the NATO Commander thanked and appreciated “the Minister for his great interest in developing bilateral relations and strengthening the bonds of cooperation.”
While the temporary Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria praised "the great efforts made by the Ministry of the Interior to enhance security and stability."
