The Baghdad Municipality confirmed, on Sunday, the start of implementation of 5,000 projects during the current year, and while it noted that the majority of them are in the process of completion, it indicated that a plan for a large package of projects for next year has been prepared in implementation of the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani .
The Director General of the Projects Department in the Baghdad Municipality, Yaqdan Al-Waeli, said in an interview with the official news agency, which Al-Eqtisad News reviewed, that “the Projects Department, one of the formations of the Baghdad Municipality, is carrying out a major campaign to implement a large number of projects, including projects to open and cover roads and rehabilitate buildings, areas, and shops throughout Baghdad .”
He added that "the number of projects exceeded 5,000 throughout the capital for the current year," indicating that "next year will witness a large package of projects, including parks in the city of Kadhimiya and the completion of new parts on Abu Nawas Street," pointing out that "work is underway continuously day and night within the plans." Current and future services, in implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives to provide the best services to the citizens of the capital .”
He pointed out that "most of the projects are in the process of being completed in the areas of Al-Jadriya, Al-Kadhimiya, Al-Sadr City, and other areas next to Al-Karkh and Al-Rusafa ."
