The Ministry of Commerce announced today, Friday, that about one million citizens are not eligible for the ration card in four governorates, while indicating that automating the card will save money and improve its vocabulary.
The Director General of the Ministry’s Commercial and Financial Control Department, Riyad Al-Moussawi, said in an interview with the official agency, followed by the “Al-Ma’louma” Agency, that “the Ministry is serious about the issue of automating the electronic card,” indicating that “the procedures revealed that about one million citizens are not eligible for the ration card in 4 governorates.”
He added, "Automating the ration card will reveal many individuals who are not eligible for the food basket items, which will save a lot of money, and thus improve the card items and deliver them to eligible citizens."
He continued, "Work is underway to automate the ration card in all governorates of Iraq." Ended 25/J
