    The Ministry of Commerce denied on Monday rumors of depriving citizens of the ration card and banning them from them if they do not renew their electoral cards, stressing that the news is baseless and its purpose is to raise public opinion.
    The ministry said in a statement received / Mawazin News / a copy of it, "The rumor of depriving citizens of the ration card and blocking them in case they did not renew their electoral cards is not valid," asserting "his goal to raise public opinion and exploitation by the owners of vulnerable people in the coverage on Achievements of the government within its government program during the previous and subsequent period. "
    She added that "the non-delivery of the ration card only after updating the voter card and register them as a precautionary measure to update the ration card data to the presence of large numbers of citizens have not been updated since 2014, especially after the variables and events that Iraq has undergone during the past three years after In some provinces. "
    The ministry added that "the database needs to be updated in order to eliminate the repetition in the preparation, as well as the inventory of the numbers of passengers and the deceased and other variables, to limit the real numbers covered by the ration card and according to studies to reform the ration card system to reduce manipulation and forgery and preservation of public money.
    She pointed out that "the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers referred to the cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Commerce through the Department of Planning and Follow-up and the Electoral Commission to update the database of the ration card and voter card and according to the instructions and controls on this aspect."
    The ministry called on all citizens to "speed up the delivery of their documents to the agents of supply for the purpose of receiving their ration cards and before the end of this year, to block the weak souls who promote rumors that do not serve the citizen and the government."
