Education: The guardian’s sponsorship replaces the employee’s need

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research revealed the possibility of a guardian sponsoring a morning school student with a pledge in the notary department, in the event that there is no employee or retiree to sponsor him before he registers in the college, stressing that the procedure aims to protect university infrastructure.
The Director of the Department of Media and Government Communication at Al-Mustansiriya University, Dr. Hamdi Ismail Al-Kali, said in a statement to “Al-Sabah”: The instructions for accepting new students for the first stage of preliminary studies oblige the student to bring a sponsor to work on his behalf, provided that the sponsor is an employee or retired, noting that if If both conditions are not met, the student’s guardian can pledge to the notary public department within the legal frameworks, enabling him to begin his work at the college in a legal manner.
The issue of sponsorship is considered one of the approved basics and procedures followed in many institutions in the country to be a real guarantee for the student, noting that the university is a solid scientific institution whose main role is not limited to education, curriculum or the like. Its mission is also to build a conscious generation that serves the state and society and must adhere to the laws, internal regulations and instructions. And orders issued by the Ministry and the University.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry confirmed earlier that there are no significant financial consequences owed by the sponsor, and that the aim of the sponsorship is a precautionary measure to protect students from any assault or quarrel, in addition to protecting the infrastructure represented by scientific equipment and laboratories included within the school curriculum, especially the applied aspect.
