Member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiyath Al-Sourji, confirmed on Thursday that the exchange of accusations between Baghdad and Erbil regarding the financial file, imports, and data had victimized employees in the region due to delayed payment of salaries.
Al-Sourji told Al-Maalouma, “The Kurdistan government is composed of the Democratic Party, the National Union, and the Movement for Change, but the file of internal imports, customs, and border crossings is in the hands of the Democratic Party.”
He added, "Barzani's party has the majority of seats and votes in the region and controls the main components of the government, and therefore the parties participating in power within the region do not know the volume of imports and revenues that enter Kurdistan."
He stated that "the issue of delay in sending salaries has turned into a political issue and accusations have been exchanged between Baghdad, which accuses the regional government of not being transparent in the payrolls, and Erbil accuses Baghdad of trying to starve the Kurdish people. As a result, the employee in the region fell victim to this delay in disbursing dues." Ended 25 n
