Today, Monday, the Investigations Department of the Federal Integrity Commission announced seizures in the Babil Governorate Office, the Health Department, and the Municipality Directorate in the governorate.
A statement from the department received by “Al-Iqtisad News” stated, “The Babylon Investigation Office team was able to arrest the accounts director of Imam Al-Sadiq Hospital for collecting an amount of (46,111,750) dinars based on non-principled account receipts, in violation of controls and instructions and without the knowledge of the administration.”
He added, "The accused did not deposit the amounts in the bank because there was no legal basis for them, and he sealed the hospital account where the accused deposited those funds, and seized the accounting records according to which the collections were made."
The statement indicated, "The team revealed manipulation and forgery in the receipts of Shomali General Hospital, where the receipts disbursed during the year 2022 were used, reorganized again and cut off for the auditors, in exchange for sums of money that reached (29,000,000) dinars that were not recorded in the hospital's revenues."
He explained, "The team monitored the Central Public Health Laboratory in Babylon giving results of the use of artificial sweeteners without having a device to measure the permissible percentages of these substances," warning of "favoritism of the owner of a soft drinks production company, and intentionally causing harm to citizens and exposing their health and safety to danger, through... Violating ministerial instructions stipulating not to re-examine the laboratory because the material is not suitable for human consumption.”
The statement pointed out, “The accused, who is sponsored by the director of the accounts of the investment plan in the Diwan, along with sponsored employees, granted the two contracting companies implementing the Hilla Central Park construction project an amount of (317,845,668) dinars, in violation of the regulations.”
He continued, "As for the municipality of Hilla, the team noticed that the municipal director refrained from registering a plot of land that had been allocated to the wife of a martyr and kept the transaction with him after she filed a complaint against him and the director of legal in the municipality for requesting that they pay sums of money in exchange for registering the plot of land, while the private issued and debt records were seized." The municipality allocated two properties, contrary to instructions, to two defendants, one of whom was sponsored and the other against whom an arrest warrant had been issued.
