The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Refining Affairs, Hamid Younis, reported yesterday, Saturday, the successful operation of the fourth refining unit at the South Refineries Company and the commencement of fuel oil production with a capacity of 50 thousand barrels per day.He pointed out that “the Ministry’s strategy aims to increase refining capacity through the implementation of a number of investment refineries, and increasing the number of units.” Productivity in order to achieve self-sufficiency, meet local needs, and stop imports in support of the national economy.”He added that “this achievement was achieved through national effort,” praising “the sincere efforts of the workers at the South Refineries Company and the supporting parties.” With it from the oil sector, where precision machinery work was completed and the DCS system and ESD system were installed.”
Younis said in a statement: “These projects were achieved through national efforts, thanks to the support of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and the diligent follow-up of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and the Minister of Oil, which translates what was stated in the government program into reality.” ;, indicating that “this achievement is a source of pride for the refinery sector and the oil sector in general.”
