[size=45]Yesterday, Wednesday, the Ministry of Labor confirmed the disbursement of salaries to former retired workers of no less than 500,000 dinars, and the acceptance of 300 requests for optional inclusion in the Social Security Law, while it announced an approach to the Ministry of Finance to include daily workers and contracts by the law.[/size]
[size=45]Director General of the Department of Retirement and Social Security for Workers in the Ministry, Kholoud Hiran, told the official media and its affiliate (Al-Mada), that “the new Social Security Retirement Law for Workers No. 18 of 2023 entered into force on 11/28/2023.”[/size]
[size=45]She added, “The most important work and achievements carried out by the department during the above-mentioned period were, first, preparing instructions for the retirement and social security law and preparing systems, including the contributions system and the inspection system, and they were completed.”[/size]
[size=45]She continued, “The second achievement carried out by the department is disbursing the salaries of former retirees at no less than 500 thousand dinars, and amending the salaries of retirees whose salaries exceed 500 thousand dinars according to the new retirement equation in the new law, with approximately 150 retirement transactions,” pointing out that “The amendment is ongoing to complete the rest of the transactions and issue decisions accordingly.”[/size]
[size=45]She pointed out that “the programs related to the previous Social Security Law were amended in accordance with the new law, as the registration platform for optional security was opened through the Ur platform in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, so that registration would be electronic via the Internet.”[/size]
[size=45]She explained, “The number of applicants on the Or platform from the date of the law’s enforcement on the 28th of last November until today has reached more than 500 applications from workers in the unorganized sector, to register in the optional insurance,” stressing, “300 applications were accepted according to the conditions, and they were rejected.” 52 applications were filed because they did not meet the legal requirements, in addition to 200 applications with deficiencies that will be completed.”[/size]
[size=45]She pointed out, “The Ministry of Finance was approached for the purpose of instructing all departments to pay subscriptions and provide the department with data on daily procedures and contracts, for the purpose of including them in the provisions of the new law.”[/size]
[size=45]She confirmed, “The department has prepared a special program for optional insurance, for the purpose of registering and confirming the names of applicants for optional insurance. Work has also been done to archive all files related to workers and projects and work is continuing on them,” noting that “inspection visits have been intensified to cover the broadest projects, to be included in social security.”[/size]
