The Parliamentary Transport and Communications Committee intends to follow up on the draft Law on Communications and Information Technology and the Maritime Authority with the aim of legislating and approving them.
Committee member Karwan Ali Yaruwis said in a statement to Al-Sabah newspaper, followed by Mawazine News, that “the committee is following up on the two draft laws to transfer them to the second legislative chapter, in order to seek to legislate and approve them, because this law carries the utmost importance in the field of communications and information.”
He stressed that "the draft law on communications and informatics comes to establish the tasks and duties of each of the Ministry of Communications and the Communications and Information Authority and differentiate between their duties separately, in addition to drawing up a real work policy for the competent authorities in the communications sector for development and improvement in a way that guarantees good services for citizens, as there are intensive efforts in coordination."
