He explained, “Achieving sustainable development, reducing unemployment, maximizing state revenues, and developing clear, non-classical strategies in combating corruption, money laundering, and terrorist financing will definitely contribute to preserving public money and are in the interest of the quality of upgrading the national economy to the ranks of civilized societies.”
He stressed that “the political will and zero-sum theory for small and micro projects; “It will serve as the basic building block and nucleus for reducing the gap and chasm between the street and decision-makers.”
For his part, political analyst Ali Al-Baidar pointed out in an interview with Al-Sabah, “Although Iraq is ranked 140th globally and 15th in the Arab world; However, in comparison to the events he experienced in previous years, this position is considered better than the previous positions he occupied.”
He pointed out that “the concept of prosperity and prosperity requires a state of security and political stability to move to other economic concepts, and it is worth noting that Iraq, from a security standpoint, did not witness tangible stability except only a year ago, so from the standpoint of prosperity and well-being, we need decades of time to be achieved.” It is counted in international quality standards, and when we talk about countries - perhaps we look at them on the basis that they are ideal, such as the Emirates - we find them in the forty-fourth place in the world, and for Iraq to advance to good ranks, it needs to rearrange
the country’s priorities.
Al-Baidar pointed out, “In previous stages, security was one of the state’s priorities that was overcome, and after that the obstacle that faced the state became the political class and the fluctuations that are the dilemma that Iraq needs to overcome, and after Iraq rearranged its priorities and crossed the security and political barrier, it went to the basic factor.” After security and political maturity, which is the spread of corruption, which also represents an obstacle in light of the serious and prominent attempts by the Sudanese government to eliminate corruption, therefore the government must rearrange priorities to address the crises of the Iraqi citizen first, and those who want to work in Iraq second
at the investment level.”
He stressed, “This is what makes Iraq advance in this index, and Iraq cannot jump to the fiftieth rank, so we rely on the degree of political awareness and what the Iraqi citizen and street want, all of which are factors that can raise or lower the country’s ranking in this aspect.”
The Legatum Institute, based in the United Kingdom, issued its report on the Prosperity and Prosperity Index for citizens of 167 countries, measuring several criteria, the most important of which are the quality of the economy, the ease of doing business, achieving security and security, health care and education, the business environment and governance, as well as personal freedoms, and Iraq came in 140th place.
