The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, stressed today, Friday, the importance of strengthening the foundations of justice and equality among citizens.
A statement from the Presidency of the Republic received by Mawazine News said, “The President of the Republic, Abdel Latif Gamal Rashid, received the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zidane.”
The statement added, "During the meeting, developments in the general situation in the country were discussed, and strengthening the role of the judiciary in supporting the force of law and establishing security and stability."
He pointed out that "the importance of preserving the independence of the judiciary and strengthening the foundations of justice and equality among citizens was emphasized."
The statement continued, "It was emphasized to continue fruitful cooperation between the Presidency of the Republic and the Supreme Judicial Council in a way that achieves the strengthening of integration between the constitutional authorities in the field of legislating laws and combating corruption, as well as resolving the cases of detainees whose sentences have expired."
