[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The General Company for Iraqi Ports announced, today, Tuesday, that the cadres of its marine rescue department were able to recover a shipwreck weighing 400 tons from the southern bank of the Shatt al-Arab Corniche.
Director General of Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, said in a statement today, “There is great cooperation between the company and the local government, especially regarding the issue of cleaning the Shatt Al-Arab Corniche from sunken floods to display it in its best light before the people and visitors of the city.”
He explained that "the cadres of the marine rescue department in our company, using the giant excavator (Abazar), were able to recover a shipwreck weighing 400 tons from the southern bank of the Shatt al-Arab Corniche."
He added, “Our campaign to clean the Shatt al-Arab continues, and this is a service to the people of Basra.”
He continued, “The problem of sinking waters is great, but thanks to cooperation with the local government, the Shatt al-Arab has begun to be more beautiful.”
