an independent representative, considered the continuation of the positions voted on by the acting Council of Ministers a constitutional violation.
Representative Hadi Al-Salami said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “The House of Representatives took a decision that it is necessary to vote on the names of the candidates who passed through the Council of Ministers before assuming their positions,” noting that “the Cabinet appointments passed without being subject to constitutional procedures in Parliament.” That
includes a vote of the Council.
The representative explained that “there is a violation of the government program announced by the Prime Minister, which indicates ending the agency’s file within 6 months,” noting that “one of the duties of the House of Representatives is oversight, and we have diagnosed the issue to resolve the issue, as the continuation of the file of managing positions by the agency is dangerous.”
He pointed out that “the budget law indicated that the administrative powers of the acting directors would end on the 31st of December, but the Administrative Court’s decision extended that, knowing that the Prime Minister established in the government program the need for the agency’s positions to end
within 6 months.”
