[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced that the government is studying a proposed amendment to the general budget that would allow it to pay the dues of international oil companies operating in the Kurdistan region.
Abdul Ghani said, in press statements, that "the amendment could allow producers in the region to resume production and export through the Turkish port of Ceyhan."
He added, "We seek to solve the problem of high costs quickly, and to resume exports as soon as possible," noting that "the Ministry of Oil hopes to review and amend the contracts signed between the Kurdistan Regional Government and international companies."
The Minister of Oil stressed, “Iraq is keen to resume exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan and maintain strong economic relations with Turkey.”/End 5[/rtl]
